Instruction:

Long jing Dragon well is China’s most popular tea. The tea dates back to the Tang Dynasty with over 1200 years of history. In Chinese culture Dragon well is looked upon as an excellent gift to give to your friends as once it was a gift to emperors. In ancient times top Dragon well is the tea of emperors and special dignitaries. The tea was only plucked once a year during March and April before the Clear Light Festival; otherwise it could not have the moniker imperial. It was carefully picked and processed completely by hand from hand picking to hand roasting in large electric woks. Dragon well contains Vitamin C, amino acids, and the highest concentration of catechin among teas. It is well known for its “four wonders”-beautiful flat-leaf appearance, pleasant jade green color, aromatic flavor and mellow taste. It was the tea served to Richard Nixon during his famous meeting with Mao Zedong. Moreover, it was awarded a “Gold Palm” Medal—the top honor—at the 27th World Food Selection held in Athens in 1988.

Shi Feng Mountain is the first-grade protection area of the original production area of Longhu, West Lake, Zhejiang Province. The natural ecological conditions here are unique, the climate is mild and humid, and the rain is endless. The annual average temperature is 16.1 °C, the average humidity is above 80%, and the rainfall is about 1500 mm. The soil in the Shi Feng Mountain area is composed of the residual material of the “West Lake Quartz” rock and the white sand and loess formed by the weathering of siltstone and silty mudstone. The trace internal substances contained in it are particularly suitable for the formation of high quality tea. The tea produced in this zone contains a lot of aromatic oil, the shape is short and fat, smooth and flat, the leaves are slightly budded, the color is green, the taste is soft and sweet, the fragrance is lasting, and the aftertaste is lasting.

It is well known for its “four wonders”-beautiful flat-leaf appearance,

pleasant jade green color, aromatic flavor and mellow taste.

Leaves are dried into long, flat, narrow. They are a beautiful jade green color.

The tea has a wonderful sweet taste with a hint of chestnut notes.

It feels full and round in your mouth and leaves a refreshing aftertaste.

The aroma has been compared to orchids, honeysuckle, and to rich sweet corn, by different people.

The tea tastes like “the very essence of a lush spring meadow drenched in morning dew,”

according to Helen Gustafson, the famous San Francisco Tea Lady.

According to modern scientific analysis Dragon Well contains more Vitamin C,

amino acids and catechin than other teas.

Once the water level is low- add more water, and so on and so on- until the flavor of the tea is exhausted. Look at the pattern of the leaves in the brew, not only do they foretell your fortune but you can see the bud and shoots presenting themselves, looking like they are about to be plucked by young virgins.
